The problem I have encountered recently is that if you have both a personal MS account and a Work account, the shared app seems to only permit editing on Work account files. It will open personal account files, but it says you don't have permission to edit (read-only on personal files). The standalone apps do support editing.

It's very strange and seems like a bug. Not sure if this is the same for everyone, but it's been entirely consistent for me since their changes.
