Microsoft posts $6.37b operating profit in Q3 2012: Windows is up, Xbox is down

I'm not surprised to see the Xbox is down. Its EOL and pretty old.

If MS keeps making record profit then maybe they should just stay in the post-PC era.

You do not see anyone else putting out new consoles either. Given the age of the Xbox MSFT has done a very good job keeping it innovative and in the mix. It has turned into a complete entertainment center.

I cut my cable over three years ago and have never regreted that decision.

Actually net income was only $5.11 billion, probably due to amortization of large acquisitions like Skype & the AOL patents. But the good news is record 3Q revenue!

I wonder if MS is going to combine the Windows Phone and Windows RT into "Windows" IMO they should just incase of low sales it will be overshadowed by strong PC sales which can keep investors happy.
