Microsoft's mixed reality device Hololens still worth it?

As Microsoft announced this device back in 2015 to much hype, still its not the device everyone knows about. Instead Google and Apple are making their way to build their Mixed reality devices using this idea.

Everyone doesn't know about the occulus, let alone the HoloLens. AR/VR is not mainstream.

I think this is a rather different question from "is it worth it" however, which would relate more to the price, and functionality.

There's a fair bit of development for the HoloLens, and a reasonable number of UWP apps support it. MSFT is however working on a cheaper, smaller, but more limited holographic wearable, and apple has some secret AR project.

Google seems more interested in VR than AR.

it is not the best nor the worst, it is a mix between google glass and htc vive and alikes. it will be best suited for some appliances than other hardware.
