Mini-display port (newb question)

Is the mini display port on the SP3 the same as on Macs?

Don't have any experience with mini display ports as I have HDMI output on my Dell laptop and would need a mini to HDMI adapter...most available online always mention to be used with Apple.

Yup. It is exactly the same.

Yes, It's an industry standard technology. As long as the adapter is mini display port and HDMI it will work for you. I use a fairly cheap one by StarTech.
