Is it 16:9? When I mirror my dvp8 tablet, there are bars on the sides..

Also, is it possible to project while having the display go to sleep...like when playing a video?

Hey

I have updated my lumia 1520 with lumia cyan. Although it is suppose to bring the functionality to screen cast the device on to the my LG 42LB5820 but it is constantly showing connecting and then in a while it shows disconnected. I have tried many times but unable to mirror my device to my TV.
Its disappointing how the things going with Microsoft and windows. I had expectations and now they are all thrashed.
It would have been better spending my money on some Android device. Alteast all the things work there.

When you mirror it has to take on the resolution of the device. On the DVP8 set it up as a second display instead. Then you can set the resolution independently of the device display.

When I use it as a second display, I can't control anything on it without a mouse :/

Try updating the firmware on your TV. It could be you're TVs Miracast causing issues. I have a netgear push2tv adapter. It was known to have issues before firmware updates on it

I had first trouble to get my phone and TV finding each other and then get connected. Now that those are paired they find each other but it takes a while to get connected.

Performance is irregular and there is 2 second freezes now and then. Projecting videos is painful because of freezes and constant hitching. I blame my TV since i guess it have just single core prosessor. Even browsing web is very slow with it.

My TV is LG55la660v-za

Not good at all. Not the Miracast I expected... I have 32LA6610 LG smart tv and it takes too long to connect and sometimes won't even connect, not consistent. And when playing a video, the phone's does not turn off and lags and hiccups' are really noticeable.

My 1520 with cyan works fine with my Lg 32LN571B-TE. The only thing I notice is a slight lag. Plus some connecting issues. Typing this while mirroring is on the screen. At the same time streaming music through Miracast.

Before Cyan, running the developer preview I could "Project My Screen" via USB. After the Cyan update my 1520 is prompted with a code to connect but it fails every time. It also can no longer work with a USB connection like it used to. I have tried on multiple PCs with no success.

Lumia 1520 Cyan. Sharp Aquos Smart TV with newest software upgrade. Lumia never finds the TV which says "waiting for connection request". It is just not working!

There is another app like mirracast bit a lot better. Forgot the name. Don't even need a smart tv. Basically turn the playstation on and use the web and scan the barcode and it works perfectly. If I can remember the name I will post it

Well Miracast is always a hit and miss and it completely depends on the device drivers for the device and the receiver device. I have a laptop and Dell V8P which both support Miracast and i use them to project on my Samsung Smart TV. Connecting to the TV has greatly improved over the past year after Intel released updated drivers along with updates for the Samsung TV. It still does lag slightly on the device when screen sharing.

Since the 1520 is a comparable device to the V8P (my laptop is a way powerful machine), it slightly lagging should be alright and expected in my opinion, again unless the lag doesn't cause stuttering
