Missing a wifi icon on taskbar

I have tried many fixes unsuccesfully. Does anyone know of a fairly simple fix for this?

Do you mean your system isn't recognizing Wi-Fi at all, or it does, Wi-Fi works, but you don't see it in Quick Settings and/or in the tray next to the clock?
