Mobile Insider Build 10536 bricked my Lumia 1020.

I've had 10536 installed since Monday and it was working fine and today I get a notification saying "Updates ready to be installed", so thinking there must be a minor update to this build, I select & opt to reboot so the updates could install. Phone reboots, shows the Nokia splash screen, shows the turning gear for a few seconds & then I get a big :-( ---- phone reboots and keeps going through this loop.

Lumia Recovery software does not see the phone, soft & hard reset do nothing but a reboot into the loop again.

Any ideas? It's a Rodgers branded Lumia1020 being used on T-Mobile if it matters. I've been using the preview builds since they have been available for the 1020 and this is my first major issue.

Use the Windows Phone Recovery Tool instead, see if that works. Select "My phone isn't detected.." and see if it will detect it. If not, keep rebooting your phone until the phone finds it. I'm not sure what the key combination is for Nokia, but HTC phones require to hold volume up + volume down at the same time to bring up the bootloader menu.

I had this same problem a few months ago. I was worried my phone was bricked when the WPRT didn't detect it at first. But trying a few more times did the trick.

Have you tried NSU. The same thing happens with me on my lumia 520(that :-( symbol and everything).NSU works well for me.
