More and more services getting turned off?

Trying to decide whether my phone is messing up or whether Microsoft is just turning services off:

- News app no longer shows headline in notification area but only "New Notification"
- Cortana won't translate spoken text into characters for texting anymore
- Live tile for Weather app is just dark blue (of course, that's probably not Microsoft)
- a few attachments wouldn't open in e-mail the other day, while others still did (fluke or new pattern?)

Every time I think about getting another phone (I'm on a

Lumia 1020​

), I can't get myself to like the thought but if more features keep braking and more apps disappearing (rumor has it WhatsApp will be shut down soon), there'll be a point where there's no other choice...

If you are on Windows Phone 8.1 still, and resetting your phone doesn't fix any of these issues, then yes, switching to Android or iOS may be your best choice. If you are thinking of switching platforms, try Xiaomi or Nokia Android phones for the closest experience (in my opinion) to still being on Windows Phone, from an Android device.
