Motion Sensing Settings with Iphone

So I was curious and did some searching and couldnt find an answer.

The band tracks steps, so should I go into my iPhone 6 settings and turn off the motion sensing so it doesnt send data to the Microsoft Health App?

I would guess this may send duplicate step counts?

Any thoughts?

I have it turned on and it does not duplicate steps.

Have looked at the results for the past 6 months or so and came to the conclusion that its best to have it on since I do take the Band off while charging and sometimes forget to put it back on but I aways seem to have my iPhone so keeps track then too. When you sync, the app will reconcile the steps (and calories) while Band will show the measured/tracked counts only.

Is this synced only through the app or do the iPhone steps carry over to the actual band? I'm wondering because I went from being stuck at 376 steps to 408 after I turned it on but I don't know.

Unless MS changed sw, the iPhone counted steps are only synced with MS Health app. You should see differences on steps and calories between the app and Band.
