Moving carrier/network UK

Hi guys
My contract for my l920 is up next month and I'm thinking about moving from EE to three. I was wondering is if I get a three sim only plan and use it in my 920 if my phone will be updated when three pushes out an update or when EE pushes out an update (bought the phone from EE in the first place). Also I wanted to know if I will get data sense on three?
