Hi all,

I wanted to check this theory I have.. I currently own a Lumia 920 unbranded that I bought in the Netherlands. I am using Zune on my desktop to download podcasts which I then sync with the Windows Phone 8 software. This has been the best way to get podcasts, since none of the available apps seems to be reliable at all times and native podcast support is not supported in the Netherlands.

Now, as I understand it native podcast support is offered in Canada; and I will be moving there very soon. I'm not bringing my laptop so I won't be able to use Zune. Will my Dutch phone automagically recognize that I'm in Canada, and therefore be able to use native podcast support? Or will it realize it's Dutch and just unfortunately limited? I was thinking the first, can anyone confirm?

I believe once you set your phone region to canada, you should be fine.

I could be wrong. Very wrong.

Nah pretty sure you are correct dude, just like here in Australia setting region to US allowed full res SkyDrive pic uploads :)

So based on that I should be able to turn my region settings to US now and see podcasts being supported, right? Because I'm not getting that, which makes me believe either my phone uses my location to determine that I'm not actually in the US, or my phone software is just not able to support podcasts at all..

Definitely not the geolocation coz thats turn offable. Some times it takes a while for the phone to phone he and activate features, id give it a day and if thr feature you are after doesnt activate, put a CA firmware on it when you get there but im pretty confident it will enable, just as the skydrive uploads did.

Hmm, it seems to not really work.. The store is changed to Canada alright, but the music store is still set to the Netherlands. Also I can't find any option to download podcasts. I've changed the region three days ago so I'll give it a bit more time.
