PSA: The version carried in the MS store is 3G 850/1700/1900 -- clearly labeled on the box. That's great for the Americas but lacks the 2100MHz band and so will not support 3G in most of the world outside the Americas.

Anyone have specific experience that says otherwise -- as in, you bought one from MS, and took it to Europe and got 3G?

A little more research reveals that the MS Store one is the model W510U. It's the W510L that has 850/1900/2100 support for 3G outside the Americas.

Every phone has several variants. It is up to the user to check the specs for the carrier frequencies of the phones they are interested in and shopping for to make sure you are getting the frequencies you need.
