Music app; connect to streaming music?

I'm not sure what that does exactly in the music app on WP...Any explanation please? And is that what people said to turn off to save battery?

But sufficed to say, if you have an active Xbox Music subscription you can save your own music collection on your PC to the cloud and access it on your phone.
