Hey I want you guys to share your means of discovering new music and describe them. I recently started finding websites that introduced me to music with different means and am amazed at how many new songs I've found!
I'll start:
Last.FM
Pros-Discover universal music not restricted by country
-You rely on algorithm for new music
-Endless music is played, no need to find another playlist since your playlist doesn't end
-You have a "Library" which keeps track of the music/artists you love
Cons-Sometimes algorithm fails
-No windows phone apps
8Tracks
Pros-Discover universal music not restricted by country
-You rely on other people for new music
-Great windows phone apps
Cons-Since you rely on other people's "mixtapes" for music, then if they didn't include a song from youtube, you will never find it
-It's mind boggling maneuvering yourself in the website/apps unlike Last.FM where it very simply leads you directly to new music
