So I read over at MSPoweruser that a reliable source has stated that HP is going to have a consumer oriented version of the X3 by Feb, possibly with a MWC 17 announcement. It goes on to state that HP has been working with MS to build the phone and address some of the key issues/features that consumers wanted from the X3 (specifically mentioning glance as one).

What do you guys think? Would be awesome if they made a carbon copy of the phone giving it the Lumia camera and button? The phone would be as close to perfect as we can get for a W10M device. I would even take it with the SD820/21 over the SD835 if it meant a price cut. I imagine if they have been working on it as long as the article says (since July) it will come with a SD821.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the article doesn't seem to say that it's a "consumer x3", just that they're following up the x3 with "a consumer Windows phone". It could be something mid or entry level (especially if it's for consumers, and not business).

Not that I wouldn't love to see something with a SD835, of course.

Basically, what the x3 SHOULD have been? Shoot, count me in. I hope this is all true!!! Then it would be an actual UPgrade to my 950XL.

I would love to see a smaller footprint version of the x3. I love the device but I find myself using my 950 sometimes because of the 5.2" screen size.

No way! If the latest is sd 835 that's what it should be. You want to experience windows 10 at its best. Continuum at its best. You don't put a phone out to the world that is subpar if you're the big gun working with MS. Flagships make the most money and get the most praise. Ask Samsung. You want the consumer market to see it as a powerful, beautiful and capable beast.

5.7" + screen. Even Apple is going with this method for iphone 8.

I was just coming here to post a new thread about this. I'm so happy!!! I hope it's at least 5.5 screen size though. I was going to get the HP elite x3 when my galaxy s4 die's witch I think will be with in a year. This is such amazing news. They said it will get the high end Microsoft pure view camera's and other stuff from Microsoft. This is so amazing! I hope they cut out the business stuff from the unit and replace that with stuff for the everyday guy. Really high end camera would do them so goodas well. Like that would be a big thing, if its better the the 950's and better then the new iphones and other top market phones. I'm so happy to here this! I hope it comes out by March. Seems like HP and Microsoft are still not giving up. As far as hard ware, they should only add, not take away anything. But soft ware they can take away that work place stuff. I so happy!!!! Thank you HP!! I love the fact that its from HP, a brand that's been around from the time of the birth of the home computer revolution from the pre 1980's. Makes me feel like I'm getting something from a legit computer company. I'd be willing to pay the same for this phone as the x3, but they should try to make it 150$ dollars cheaper to get the everyday smart phone person on board and not turned off by such a high price. Thanks for the news guys!!!

Or two variants. A 821 that was outed more recently and one of the 830's. But I bet they put out just 1 really good one. They spent a lot of time and research with the x3 and it shows.

To this day they are still taking feed back of course and pushed some fw needed to help it. Design and support are some of the several reasons I got the x3.
