my icon is slow to wake up

on my icon i'm running the Developers preview. It seems when I hit the power button to wake my phone there is a slight delay. It seems to happen when i'm at home and not so much at work. Is there a common issue that i'm experiencing?

Yes, it only happens on certain WiFi networks.

What's the solution? buy a new wireless router?

It is a bug with 8.1 and the Lumia Black firmware. It should (hopefully) be fixed with the Lumia Cyan/Denim firmware update, whenever they are released.

You can uninstall the Developer Preview and it goes away. Then wait for Verizon to release the official version.

Or turn off wifi till you need it.
