My kid's Windows 10 install lost it's start button functionality...

Had worked fine until today. He hadn't really used the computer in a couple weeks. He's out of town so I went on it with TeamViewer 10 and never really found anything wrong. Ran Malwarebytes with latest updates on it along with Windows Defender both quick and deep setting. Nothing. Saw one other person here asking the same question when I first put this up as a question but no one answered him either. Anyone having any late breaking problems with the Start Button. We tried both the mouse on the button and the physical keyboard with no results. I tried Admin DOS prompt SFC /scannow and nothing. Someone else had a Powershell bit of code they recommended but nothing worked.
