My laptop doest recongniose that my phone (1020) is connected?

I connect my Nokia 1020 to my laptop but it wont connect so that I can sync my music......I have Windows 7 on my laptop. My laptop charges my phone when I plug it in but wont connect. Is there an update available that I have missed. Please help. Thanks

Are you using the official Nokia micro usb wire or another. This is what's happened to me if I don't use the official wire.
