Whenever I switch off and then on my Lumia 640XL, it adds the Hindi keyboard! I am not Indian nor I have added Hindi keybaord myself before. This been going on since ages and I just hate to remove it manually after every boot.

By the way, this happened to every Lumia I ever had (920, 1520, 520).

How do I stop that from happening?

thanks in advance.

Hello.. Looks like you're destine to be an Indian. :P Anyway onto your issue. Have you tried removing the language and region from the phone? Also what firmware are you at?

Eveything is set to English-US.. I did not add another language. I only added Arabic Keyboard.

OS version: 8.10.15148.160
Firmware revision: 02177.00000.15184.36002

hmm, may have to do with the country variant you have. Mine was made in Vietnam and is a HK version (RM-1096, Mobile Operator 000-HK). Although on mine the Chinese keyboards always come back after a hard reset only and they stay away after I remove them, it sounds kinda similar.

The fact you got this on other phones before could be related to your SIM that you carried over from phone to phone? Maybe the OS is picking up a language setting from the SIM.
I know from my 640XL that it detects a US SIM (ATT) on the first boot after hard reset and asks to switch to that language from Chinese to US.

another remote possibility is that it's from a setting that is carried over via restore from backup.

maybe none of these, but could be connected....

Maybe it could be what @Derausgewanderte mentioned regarding the SIM card. As I don't see anything else that could cause the keyboard to be added. As I'm from Malaysia, it will add the Malay Keyboard as well.
