My Nokia 930 screen turns completely black (locks) when I receive or make calls. Can I get some assistance?

My Nokia 930 screen turns completely black (locks) when I recieve or make calls.

I am then unable to activate the screen to close the call, only by pressing the on/off button over several seconds, which I think is strange.

Could you please assist or guide me in recovering this issue, if it is not a manufacture defect?

Hi, there are lots of posts on this forum regarding this particular issue.
It's caused by the proximity sensor.
If you have had the phone under a year, I would take it into a Nokia Service Centre.

Be sure you didn't recently install a case or screen protector that is interfering with the proximity sensor. Much more likely than the sensor itself being bad.

It's not the sensor being bad it's the screen lifting and causing the proximity sensor to trigger and think that you have your phone next to your ear.
