My phone died for some reason, tried everything but nothing works

Before I decide to buy a new phone, I'd like to ask about this first.

So this morning I woke up, phone is still running ok. Was able to open some apps, chat a little, take screenshots - basically normal. I went back to sleep and woke up two hours later, my phone won't turn on. It feels a bit warm. I tried charging it (even though it's still at 70% when I last saw it) but after 20 minutes, nothing happened. I tried removing the battery and putting it back again, nothing happened. I tried connecting it to the computer, the pop up message says device is installed, but it doesn't appear on My Computer as it should normally do. I tried soft resetting it multiple times (holding the power button for at least 15 seconds) nothing happened. I removed my SIM and SD card and tried doing a hard reset. Still, nothing happens. What's wrong? Anything I can do? Buy a new phone? It's been 2 years with this phone, I guess, and it's still running quite nicely. What a shame if it's really dead

chances are it was installing an update and it might have got stuck somewhere. Keep it charging and observe for an hour or two.

If nothing happens, install windows device recovery tool on your pc and use that to restore your phone

That can also work as well though WDRT is the newer version.

But when I tried connecting it to the computer earlier, I tried opening the recovery tool as well. It just said something like cannot connect to server

So I worked offline. I was able to reach this point but my phone won't vibrate at all so I can't proceed

Do you have any idea how to import my contacts (saved in Phone) now that it's dead?

Contact should already be synchronized to your Microsoft account. Did you used Hotmail or outlook.com? Check through a browser in people tab.
