Near field sensor and glance screen problem with Lumia 920 on 8.1

Back when I got the Lumia 920 at launch, I had a problem where dust got into the front camera (and probably the near field sensor) and I couldn't do anything when I made a phone call since the screen would turn off. This problem went away after an update from Nokia. With 8.1, it looks like the problem is back for me. I'm able to tap on the power button to turn the screen back on, but I was wondering if there are other solutions. Blowing on it didn't have any effect this time.

Also, I'm having trouble with getting the glance screen to work again. I have tried a hard reset. I have tried all the options and nothing is getting it shown. I have updated to the latest glance screen. I did the 100 day trick, but glance wouldn't prompt for uninstalling itself.

Any other suggestions to try?

Thanks

Do you have a screen protector on your lumia 920. I was having issues with glance screen . It was blocking the proximity sensor.

Nope. I kind of wished I did now since there's scratches all over the screen. Also, I read up on the fix for glance screen and it's the 100 year trick, but still doesn't work.

Had someone take apart the phone and blow out the dust. Seemed to have solved both problems. According to the technician, it was filled with dust inside.
