Need audio player for wp8.1

[Windows Central Question]

I need a decent audio player for mp3 on wp8.1. Notice I do not say "music player"! I do not want to connect to anything or download music! All my files come from my PC.
XboxMusic is unsuited to this and is basically spyware. Completely. The only thing that sort of works is the "Files" app, and I can browse to my mp3 and tap to play, but the minimal player that comes up is terrible. Plus I can't create and sort a list to play. Suggestions appreciated.

(my two picks - Xbox Music is hardly spyware too, don't know where you got that - my only complaint on 8.1 was relatively poor performance. I used Xbox in WP 8.0 for 100% local music before.)

Spyware depends on your definition. If I load hundreds of songs into my wp8.1 and use xbox music, it apparently goes out to the net and downloads all the album artwork when the album metadata is set. I consider this a spyware activity. I don't see a way to turn this off.

I'm looking for the same thing as you. Best I found so far is CorePlayer.
Groove Music works fine too.

Both of those will play whatever you have in your Music folder.
