Need Help! - GPS Based Apps not working under lock screen.

Apps like Adidas miCoach & Bing Health & Fitness loses GPS connection few minutes after locking the screen. I usually run outdoors with clear sky using Nokia Lumia 720 with my headphones on. It will be all good at start but after few minutes, I stop receiving any voice coaching messages from the apps and so when I unlock the screen to check the matter with audio messages, a msg comes 'GPS Found'. And then when I checked the tracking data, It was definetly going to be incorrect. The apps would just join the line on the map with the last tracked point. Both the apps are allowed in background and the battery saver is turned off.
Also, I've read on few forums and found that I'm not the only one who is facing such problem.
What can be the issue?
Is it a bug with OS or just with apps?
Is the GPS programmed to sleep under lock screen after few minutes of locking?
What are the developers doing on this?

I use 'Run the Map' under lock screen on an Ativ S with WP8.1, no problems with GPS so depends on the app you use.

If no one else has the issue then there probably are few answers if any.

I'm having the same issue with miCoach; however, Runtastic works fine.

I only have problem with miCoach. Beautiful application but doesn't run under lock screen. I hope they will fix this. Health&fitness works fine, but i prefered miCoach.

Too late to reply to this thread.. But i wish to ask how is it going with micoach on W10m??
Does still the same issue persist??
P.s.
I do use micoach still on L720 W10m build .164
Though I dont let it go to under lockscreen by setting lock screen time off to 5 minutes (max) and touching the screen once in between.
It's a shame using app like this but I chose fitness as a priority and agreed for this workaround.
