I'm about to upgrade my asus AX-5400 to the latest version (Aug.2025.) I need to perform a hard reset on the unit (lost the login pwrd. & username.)
My question: will my current functional network connection continue to function after the update? (I'm curious if the upgrade requires any manual adjustments in Windows networking or if any adjustments are performed automatically by Windows (11). My thanks in advance.🤓

If you do a full "hard reset", I'm guessing that you will be prompted for your login information as a hard reset will wipe out any settings you've entered and you won't be able to log into the wifi from a device since the login info will need to be reset. However, the hard reset should take it back to factory settings and set the password back to the factory default too. If you know what that is (could be on the box, or on the device itself) - you can log in and create a new one. I'd suggest going to the boards over on the actual ASUS website to ask first though..

Thanks for your prompt response
Sir.
The only part of this procedure(s) about which I'm a bit sketchy is will this cause Windows to create new network connections automatically or will the existing (functional) connections not be affected negatively,or is this a non issue? Perhaps I'll try the Asus site as you suggested. Once again , thanks for your response.

I'm thinking the computer will try the current connections, but because the login info will most likely be wiped out with the hard reset (back to the factory default) it won't be able to connect until you go into the router and set a new network password.

Ive got a Asus mesh system and if I do a hard reset, it's back to factory settings. But check with the Asus site. Good luck!
