My very first windows phone - Lumia 925 arrived yesterday around 6pm. This morning I start the phone service and perform the updates. The updates was done prior to activate the phone. I have T-Mobile cheapest options for try out. I was on AT&T but decide to switch. Anyway, the phone is connected to my home router. I did install few small apps but my data usage already pass 240MB. I thought WIFI connection is the prefer way. Is there any setting I need to do so it will use my home WIFI instead of T-Mobile WIFI?
My initial updates was using home WIFI without any sim.

Please help!
Thanks,

There isn't anything special you need to do to connect to Wi-Fi. Just go into it through settings and enter your info. Of course, make sure you also have it turned on.

It is connected for sure, because I update it to black using home WIFI. After that, I connected to T-Mobile site and activate the phone. I did not do much, about 10 apps thru stored. Not thing big but data usage should be minimum because I was home whole day. Cannot imagine when I switch to 2.5G service, it will use up quickly.

Did you try "don't use cellular data" for limited wifi?
Not sure if this will help.

Maybe that will take care of data hog when home. I will keep watch for next couple weeks. It should happen automatically to switch to Home or Work WIFI network and not use the carrier's data.
