New in the Forums

In the "New in the Forums" list on the from page, why do deleted threads still show? What I mean is I deleted 2 Spam threads in the forums this morning but when I go to the front page news those threads still show and when I tap the link it open the thread. WHY!? Just wondering

Please leave those alone. The reason why you see them is because you have the authority to undelete them as required.

I need them soft deleted because once you hard delete them (which I supposed you have not done), vBulletin loses track of the posting IP of the offending user. Sorry for the inconvenience but that's the power of being a moderator.

I may be able to change your authority not to be able to view them but that means removing some of your authority. But then, if I do that, you may not be able to restore the post you accidentally deleted, so it is a compromise of sort.

Did you also go through that edit button issue? I ran into that too. I thought I was quoting and ended up editing someone else posts.

No I missed that one and I like having the power. Just a little background on me I was a Moderator at PPCGeeks for about 3 years so I know a little about Modding boards like this one, on Admin experience though. The Mod panel, looking up IP's, exct... I have done all for that. Of course I don't know how you guys like to handle things so I have just been doing what I have always done waiting for input. If you see me doing something wrong just let me know I will adjust my activities. I am here to help any way I can so if there is something else you need just let me know. I realy appreciate all your help.

Do you want me to continue to ban spammers through the infraction rout?

Your are doing fine. Just post your questions on these forums whenever you ran into something you are not sure about.

Please do continue to ban spammers via the infraction route. I am requesting for Dieter's assistance in getting it configured correctly. As you can see, I am still learning myself.

I see from your sig you have a touch pro. I was looking at the other day on the TMo's TP2, except being a slider, it looks great and I don't know much difference between TP and TP2 so I cannot bring myself justifying spending over $400 to buy it.

Same here I just keep looking at Sprints version and thinking if I had $450 sitting around doing nothing I would get one but in this economy who has that kind of cash to throw around. I am realy happy with my TP I have always been a fan of the sliders if you noticed in my sig that I just keep going back to a slider. I have a nice WM 6.5.1 ROM on my TP and it is working great. I realy like having the ability to change my ROM I spend every Saturday morning changing ROM's I usually pick 2 then over the weekend decide which runs best and keep it for a week. If you decide to upgrade IMHO HTC is the way to go the HTC devices seam to always get hacked allowing for upgrades to the ROM.
