I understand that people have had trouble with the official update to Captivates, it is a by-product of Android coming out with newer versions every couple of months and Samsung not wanting to devote resources to updating older devices. I honestly doubt that it will ever get Gingerbread in an official format, at least not before the next Android version is released.

As far as the Focus, I know that it is due to the different memory chip. I don't think that either Microsoft or Samsung knew that there was a problem until after the phones had already shipped. They are due to receive the update this month sometime though, which is still ahead of the Android power curve.

true Jeff but there were also similar statements a couple of months ago that did not pan out. Additionally theres been no definite word on the 7392 update for the v 1.3 foci like mine. (so much for a critical update thats apparently really not) In that light I am not concerned at all except for the continuing perception that samsun,ATT and MS seemingly still have some bugs to work our before the mango release! I hope they get them worked out really really soon!

Lets get some of these on verizon. I am currently on android and due for an upgrade but dont really want the trophy. Here's to hoping verizon gets atleast one high end wp7 phone if so I will be switching to wp7.

No, I still have my Tour, over two years old now and has barely wored since I got it. (On my 5th Tour though, they keep breaking but I have given up trying to get one that works.) I am in a kind of funk that I feel like I'll never have a decent phone. Been waiting soooooo long and nothing worth owning has been released by anyone in years. I just hope these Mango phones are half way decent, but these hardware manufacturers don't know what they are doing. Bleh, tempted to just drop owning a cell phone all together.
