I just discovered this forum when I was looking for other people who might be enjoying the Microsoft Band. Ironically, I found out about the Microsoft Band from the MacRumors site. It looked so interesting, I ran over to the local Microsoft Store and picked one up!

I love it. I am upgrading from a Nike FuelBand and the Band is everything I thought the Nike was going to be. I have some issues, but I'll open up another thread for those.

My question is what is the difference between Airplane Mode and turning the Bluetooth off? I get the utility of Airplane Mode on a laptop or cell phone where you can disable multiple radios at the same time. Is there another radio in the Microsoft Band that is disabled when you enable Airplane mode?

Wild guess: Airplane mode turns off the GPS as well. (Although, I don't think the GPS turns on unless you're in run mode anyway.)

I'd like to see a definitive answer myself.

Bluetooth Off just turns off the Bluetooth but the Airplane Mode turns off NSA surveillance along with Bluetooth and GPS.
