I took the plunge a week ago. After the first phone was returned because it was faulty this is my thoughts after the first week. Looking at the phone in general it looks lovely. Neat lines, smoth curves and not bulky, good looking screen (though finger marks are a pain), overall the phone looks the part as a friend put it its a sexy looking phone. This being my first windows phone i was a bit worried about how i would get used to the operating system. Coming from an android operating system I needn't have been worried. The phone works like a dream. Everything is so intuitive, linking everything together to make a user friendly interface that just works so well. This past week has been such a pleasure. The phone has not failed once. The camera is fine and takes a pretty decent picture. Have not tried taking videos yet. The voice recognition works well, even with my strong Plymothian accent it still manages to understand me which is a miracle as most people struggle with my accent. The overall sound is decent enough. Add in a set of headphones and the experience is very good. The transition from Android was painless. I still use Android on my Tablet. But find I am using my phone more. than the tablet. That's the good points. Now for some negatives though I struggle to call them negatives.

The obvious one is the battery. Though this has got so much better the last 2 days. At the start battery life was terrible needing to be charged twice a day. But now it gets through 8 hrs with still 20% left so for me that is a big improvement and I am now much more happy with the battery life. The other thing that disappoints me is that I am struggling to find certain apps on the market place. But that is not the phones fault and I am sure that things will get better overtime. Don't get me wrong the Market has plenty of fine apps it just has few that i have on Android that are not yet there. Also the lack of micro sd could be a factor for some. I admit I did not realise that it did not have micro sd when i got the phone. I hold my hands up it is my fault, I should have done more research. Thankfully though with skydrive storage is not really a problem me. But it is worth keeping in mind if you are considering the phone.

So overall here my final thoughts. The Lumia 710 is a great little phone. It packs a lot into its sexy body. It handles what is asked of it without throwing a tantrum. It performs effortlessly what you ask it to do. The operating system is easy to get to grips with and works great. After a week with this phone I can say that i would recommend it to my friends without question. The phone rocks. If you are in the position of looking for a new phone I would give the Lumia 710 a serious look. For me I am so glad I took the plunge yes I am a happy Lumia 710 user.

great review jason, glad your enjoying the phone, have had mine little over 2 months and find it such a joy to use!

I too, took the plunge a week ago today. I have to say, I am in love with the Nokia 710 and specially WP7, at first I was not sure I was going to like this OS, w/all the tiles. I like a clean interface/desktop. OCD!!!! that being said I have been able to get used to it in record time.

I like that I don't have to even install the FB app on this phone. I am all about being connected and I think this OS does it better than most others. I came from an iPhone 4 and prior to that a 9930. Yes, I have a sickness!!!!

I like that I am pretty much learning something new that my phone can do that other phones either cannot or will not do it as nicely. Now I'm waiting for Windows 8 to be released so I can get me a new slate. I never thought I'd say that, being that I'm writing this on a MacBook Air, not an Apple fan. Just a fan of all new technology. I've just not been thrilled with Windows since, since....

Back to my phone!

It sure is nice seeing positive experiences from folks who own the Lumia 710. The Lumia 710 is just as liked in my home.

I too an enjoying my new Lumia. There are a few quirks I'm not particularly fond of (text only being in full keyboard mode, not changing ringtones for texts, not being able to move back when typing except to delete whole words or to backspace) but those are things I'll just have to get used to and eventually will. Unless they add some updates relatively soon. (crossing by fingers but not holding my breath) All in all though it's a fun device to use and since I rarely use it online when I'm not near a charger I keep all my data options and background apps off and don't have any of the battery issues some others experience. I actually dont even mind not being able to drag and drop files directly now that im getting the hang of the Zune software.

I think I'm getting this phone to get back into wp7 or maybe the hd7 again

^^^ Lol! I'll have to try and make it before work. Probably won't have it by then but will still have the intentions of buying it LOL
