Hello everyone. I made the switch. Got myself a new Huawei Ascend w1. I am coming from android. So far I am impressed with the speed and LOVE the live tile interface. The only drawbacks are:

1. Unable to view my shared google calendars in the app.
2. Would be nice to choose a color for each tile.
3. Not as many apps however most of what I really need are already on the phone!

I am a Linux guy and have not had the best experiences with windows in the past. But this is a new, fast and solid feeling system. No crashes in the past week. Good job Microsoft!

Welcome aboard! Windows Phone is a bit of a different UI in comparison to the other contenders but it makes it interesting and really is a solid OS. Never had experience with Huawei but I hope you have lots of good experiences with it! =]

I have been using Windows Phone since last month (Lumia 625 and 1520 this month as a birthday gift for myself) and it really impressed me like the way you were. I noticed that WP is not yet optimized for Google services. There isn't even a native Google+ here and you'll find trouble posting in the Communities section. I also experience only partial viewing of photos in FB when I used browsers, but the problem doesn't occur with the native Me or People Hub. They're so fun to use that I didn't need to install FB and Twitter, which can take a lot of space in cache. But overall, it's a very great device. I am not regretting choosing to buy it SIM-free over any Android or iPhone. :)

To choose color for each time there are various apps that let u to do so i think wpthemes is one of them

Yes the battery on the Huawei lasts almost two days with moderate use. The 512 of ram along with the dual core 1.2 GHz processor is enough to make it buttery smooth. I've used android 2.3 and blackberry 7 in the past. Never had a high end android like the Samsung line but have tried some out from friends. They still seemed to lag abit even with good hardware.
The only apple product I've used is an iPod touch and a work issued iPad mini. They are responsive but I find the static icons with only folders as a customization to be too basic.

Thanks for the welcome and if I have any questions I'll ask. Thanks

Oh, you'll enjoy it...probably.

Anyway, welcome, and enjoy your stay!
(The Ascend has a heavenly* battery life, but make sure not to be downed* with its storage, or lack thereof.)
*both puns unintended.

Welcome!! Looking excitedly to your perspective on WP.

Hello,

I am planning to do a start-up. I got to know that Windows phone users love their device, but they have concerns with the number of apps available on the platform. They would like to have popular apps from Android or iPhone available on Windows Phone.

My idea is to make android apps available on Windows Phone. I have explained the idea in following survey.

Could you please help me understand your sentiments as a windows phone user? I would really love to have your feedback on this. Its a short survey.it wont take much time Here is the link to my survey -
Survey : Run Android apps on Windows Phone

Thank you!
