Newbie needing help with folders

I have just installed one drive on my system, I am running :-

Win 10
2 Tb hard drive
4 Tb Seagate external Data Drive

As my machine was getting crowded, I transferred al my Data (photos, eBooks, Musix, documents, eMail archives etc) to my new Seagate.

This went fine.

So I installed One Drive and Office.

Basic questions :-

How do i 'tell' one drive which directories to update and how do I stop it 'trawling' through my C: drive please.

Find onedrive settings. Cloud icon on taskbar click, more(bottom right), settings.
make your selections there.

OneDrive is not for running apps and items as of yet natively in a secure private cloud rental for offloading your apps to it if your wanting to free up space on your laptop to run games and other apps like office via the cloud like say iOS does to save space on your iphone as even the iCloud cant run your bought games or apps from the cloud that you pay for to not buy extra SSDs or HDDs for running a private home server based on NAS or for cloud storage like playing a 4k movie that most do on iTunes. Mainly because of size and speed restrictions until 10 gigabit ethernet comes online in the mid 2020s if I had to guess on a timeframe for this to happen as xcloud for gaming does make laptops cheaper if you don't want to put in a say 10TB SSD in 2027 for a 6k 240HZ gaming 17 inch Razer laptop as by then 5g and wifi 6 cards will be like USB5 or USB4 standard as well for external boxes with more than just a dual SLI GPU setup along with a hidden web camera that can shoot 4k in MS win 11 camera app that can also shoot from the back on the panel being hidden seen on most chinese oppo smartphones right now in order to eliminate the camera bump.

The bottom line after debating this on YouTube and Reddit cloud based private servers for thing you already own to run via the cloud isn't ready as of yet and won't be for about 7 more years.
