Does anyone know the trick to using NFC on the VP11? Tried sharing a pic from my Lumia 820 and it didn't work. Just got the Pro11 and so far I'm liking it a lot.
Thanks for the help

Yes, there is an NFC symbol on the back on the upper left-hand corner. I was trying to connect my Lumia 820 to the tablet to share some pictures.

Don't know if you figured it out but just tested with my VP11 and Lumia 930 right know.

- Make sure NFC is enabled on both devices (of course).
- And Bluetooth is on your phone.
- Mark the pictures on your phone.
- And share with Touch and Share (NFC)
- But the phone Close to the NFC logo on the VP11 (Upper right corner in landscap)
- And Accept and download.

Worked just fine for me, but hope you got it to work before now. :)

I've always wondered how desktop Windows handled NFC.

Well, I have just transferd pictures with it and that was not any spectaculer. :P
When the picture(s) is transferd I can mark the pictures I want and choose to import them, the only "problem" is that it makes a new folder for each time I import, so you would get like to folders named 2014-07-16 and 2014-07-16(2). But maybe there is another app for this use.
And besides, I use OneDrive so don't have any use for transfering my pictures via NFC to my tablet :)

Lumias seem to have their NFC antennas on the top side of the phone - at least that was what I observed on my 620 and 1520 as well as on my parents' 720 - so if you're going to use NFC with the Venue 11 Pro, you should tap the top part of your phone (assuming it's where the antenna is) on the NFC logo at the back of the tablet. Sharing from a phone to the tablet is as Sthalvo has explained. To do it the other way around you do the following:
- Open any shareable information with an app such as photos or links (Photos, Internet Explorer, etc.). It must be a Metro/Modern app though.
- Swipe open the Charms bar and tap on Device. Tap again on "Tap and send"
- Tap your phone on the NFC logo at the back of the tablet and accept the transfer from your phone.
- Voila! Shared! Enjoy! :)

Will the NFC on the Venue Pro work with Androids NFC? I know the phone doesn't....

It should work on text information such as links. Windows Phone worked in a similar manner, in my experience.
