NFC tags

I know that nfc tags need to be ndef formatted to work with windows phones. I ordered 1k mifare unformatted nfc tags from ebay. My l920 would detect them but not read/write, until I got my friend's Samsung s3 and formatted them.

Yes - you can buy them formatted or unformatted, and I had the same experience as Hacer - I bought the cheapest ones without knowing that I had to have formatted tags (this was last November), and had to use a coworker's Galaxy to format them so I could use them with my WP. Now that's embarrassing, after I'd been trying to convince all of my coworkers how great Windows Phone is....

Come on, Microsoft or Nokia! Get with the program! Why can't we use do the same things with our tags that Androids can do with theirs? I don't necessarily mean the functions like changing settings, which are obviously prevented for security purposes. I mean the basics, like formatting tags and making them permanent.

Ok thank you, guys . Maybe I will wait a little because NFC tags on wp8 are useless right now. Hope Microsoft fix this in the next update

What is the name of the Android program on SG III for NFC TAG format?
I don't really remember the name, I took my friend's s3 searched for 'nfc ndef' installed 4 apps and got the 3rd app to format the tags. well the app didn't actually have a format feature I just added a url to my tags e.g www.bing.com and the app automatically formatted the tags

It took me three tries with the coworker's android to get one that worked. I also don't remember the name, but this one did specifically have the ability to do just a format.
