No display from Microsoft Display dock (HD-500)

Nokia Lumia 950 connected to the Microsoft Display dock (HD-500) - no display to a display port 24" hp LA2306X monitor. Solid red led on display dock meaning it is ready to attach accessorries etc- incompatible monitor perhaps?

Any advise would be appreciated as this product is too new for google solutions!

Possibly a stupid question, but you have switched to the according channel/input source on your monitor? And you have launched the Contiuum app on your phone?
