No Hey Cortana

Can't figure this out. Hey Cortana isn't available on my 1520 running 14926. Tried resetting the phone to factory settings. Tried going fast ring. Tried opting out of fast ring. Tried rebooting. Tried setting the language and region to UK and then switching back to US. Anybody have any ideas? Amazing that I still love this phone after all the crap it puts me through...

Hi, was it working on previous builds?
If so you could use the Windows Device Recovery Tool, to go back to the official Win10 builds (14393.xxx).

Not possible as I own a Mac. It was working on previous builds. Going to try to reset again. Windows is such a problem child. Never had this kind of issue with Android or IOS.

Well, tried a hard reset but now it won't restore from backup. Interestingly enough it's still on the same version of 10- 14926

But you probably didn't install Insider preview builds on Android or IOS.

A hard reset won't change the OS version, it will just do a fresh install of it.
To go back to a different OS version you would need to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool.
Do you have access to a Windows pc / laptop? Maybe a friend or relatives?

Had to locate a PC to do the Recover Tool. What a pain. Rolled back to 8.1 and then up to 10. Works now. Windows really makes it hard to love their software...
