Hey all.

My HTC windows 8x phone turns on, but the screen remains black like it is off. Is there anyway I can fix this or am I going to have to bring it in?

Yes, I have it connected to my computer as well and it seems to recognize something is there, but since there is a black screen I can't see what my phone is doing.

Update: My phone seems to be running fine, and my computer recognizes the device. I just can't see anything on my screen like it is off still. Not really sure what to do. Can anyone help?

I also have a HTC 8X (tmobile) with no screen image. If I press just right on the back lower corner it will come on, but it makes operating it a 3 handed ordeal. Something about a monkey and a football...Did the soft reset, hard reset...seems like some sort of short circuit. I heated for a while with a hair dryer ( like you would to remove the back ), hoping to re- glue some loose part inside. worked a little, but didn't last. Contacted HTC via chat, and I'm about 6 weeks past warranty. I can probably get the same phone second hand for what it costs to repair... Trying to decide on my next windows phone but don't like the idea of spending $600. Loving the new icon but tmobile offers few choices
