No Windows Hello in Settings

Can I make the Windows hello appear in the settings even if I don't have the depth camera? My laptop have a fingerprint scanner though, and that's what I want to use.

I am running Windows 10 Entgerprise 1511. I have a Logitech HD Webcam C310. I have followed the instructions and setup a PIN on my PC but have no Windows Hello - after using it on my SP4 I want to have it on my PC.

Has anyone else had a problem with this Webcam working with Windows 10 Enterprise?

Thanks

I went to device manager, biometrics, and deleted the driver since it may be corrupted (if it has a yellow triangle is corrupted) then restarted and it was re-installed ig working conditions. After that I had my windows hello back.

Go to control panel >Device manager> Bio metrics
Update driver of the bio metrics
Once it is done, Windows halllo will be back

Enjoy

I was not able to see an option for Windows Hello when logged in as a standard user. I ended up logging into the administrator account and temporarily giving my standard user admin rights. I could then see Windows Hello and set it up. The Hello option was still there (and worked) when I changed the account back to a standard user.

Windows Hello is limited to select premium phones and PC at launch, and requires specialized hardware, including illuminated infrared camera sensor for facial recognition or a finger print reader which supports the Window Biometric Framework. To check for device compatibility and other important information, visit your device manufacturer's website

I totally share your FRUSTRATION. First of all you cannot get a qualified English speaking agent,so you spend 2 hours saying "What did you say? Also If your computer came with Win 8.1,& it works fine, don't, by any means do the free,or not free, update to Win 10. HP & M S are not user friendly. For a price ($$$$),they will take over control of your computer and fix your problem(Maybe!!) My Win 10 fingerprint log on was working fine, them one day when I went to log on, there was no Hello screen & no fingerprint ID reader. That's because, while you were sleeping, MS or HP does updates to your computer and now you have problems that you didn't have before. IF IT'S WORKING FINE, DON'T LET THEM DO ANY UPDATES!! Check them out and do them yourself.

Samuval, I have done that countless times and it doesn't work (WBF)(PID)=00180, keeps coming back, yes I did try deleting that driver and updating and got the same driver back. Getting help from HP is impossible and I haven't found a good alternative. GOOD LUCK!
