neither actually, you should choose release preview as that is what will work. Since the 1020 is not on the list of devices eligible for upgrade, it won't go beyond the current threshold builds of W10M (10586.xxx OS versions). The fast and slow ring builds are 14xxx.yyyy versions and we can't get those.

I suggest you try out the release ring, test out windows 10 mobile, if you like how it is, we can move on from there
