Im with At&t prepaid and just got this phone yesterday but dont want to return it because i like this phone. Any suggestions?

That behaviour is normal for MMS messages, unless you have an allowance for them. The data it uses for sending and receiving MMS is free, but you are charged for the actual message - it either gets added onto your contract, or in your case taken from your prepaid credit.
 
I would speak to AT&T about the plan you're on and what exactly it includes, since the same would happen in any other phone that can send MMS messages.
