I've been waiting for a replacement phone for the 1520 and quietly chugging along with my 920. Well about an hour ago it caught on fire while charging. Phone still runs but the entire charging port is gone now. I know it is two years old but I'm disgusted. If I hadn't caught it, there could have been serious damage and/or injuries.

Same thing happened to my friends L 920, he worked with the phone while charging and the charging port is started to smoke, now the port is useless and very expensive to replace it, now he is using wireless chareger for charge the phone

Either the charger went bad or the electrical fluctuations messed it up. Either way the charger should've handled the excess voltage fluctuation unless its an after market charger

It was the factory one it came with. I'm disgusted because now I may not be able to wait for the new line. I know they can't have unlimited warranties, but if the phone almost burns your office down in the first two years, you should stand by it.
