Here we are two days before black Friday and Amazon is out of stock, ATT online is out of stock.....how could they miscalculate demand so badly? There will be no second chances...everyone will be walking out of stores with craptacular SGIIIs...you can already see it on the Amazon bestsellers lists...as soon as the 920 went to backorder it started falling off the list and the SGIII replaced it.

Sickening and depressing...you have people WANTING to give you money and you have no product to offer.

If that makes you sick and depressed, you have much bigger problems than a cell phone is going to be able to fix.

"Microsoft needs to be more collaborative," say all the journalists who worshipped the command-and-control business model of Apple, where "Steve decides what to build and everyone else builds it." ;)

One of the reasons Windows Phone is as good as it is is because Microsoft thought a lot more like Apple and a lot less like the old Microsoft when they designed it. They put the user experience first, they kept it a "walled garden" to ensure quality, security and consistency. They applied strict rules about hardware.

The same goes for Windows 7 and 8 IMO.

Microsoft is still Microsoft and they still have their advantages, but they have learned that there are in fact benefits to prioritizing the quality of the end user experience, making attractive, simple, well-designed interfaces etc. :)

Still, Apple would never let OEMs build their own hardware, or allow devices as diverse as the Lumia 920, HTC 8X and the ZTE/Huawei low-end devices to co-exist under the Windows brand.

And judging from the supply shortages out of Nokia and HTC, I think the OP probably should have entitled this thread "Nokia and Microsoft have a really f-ing big blow-out launch." ;)

And they seem to be just getting around to shipping the yellow phones (not that I would want one, but some people do).

One of those that wanted a Yellow Lumia. Ordered on the 13th, received on the 17th & returned on the 27th for a hardware issue.

My only replacement option in-store was White - Yellow and Cyan were no longer available for special order in the AT&T system supposedly - so I drove across town to get one of only two Red Lumia's available from AT&T in the entire city.

MAJOR supply issues...

Supply is definitely an issue - especially of colors.
