Nokia Charging Pad and 8x = Amazing

The little white LED is on the front of the charger (opposite of the plug in back). The 8x is a long device and can be placed on the charger with varying levels of overhang. If it is by your bed like mine, if you let the bottom of the 8x overhang the charger by about an inch, the LED is barely visible at night.

What's the power requirements of the charging pad? Typical USB plug is .5 amps. palm touchstone was like.9-1.0 amps IIRC. Typical car chargers didn't provide enough amps for the touchstone. A DC to DC converter was the best solution.

Depends on the charger you use, Palm and other chargers do provide the proper amperage.

I would assume the same would go for these new wireless charging options, still looking for amperage requirements.

Do you have a special 8x version?
My 8x does not have wireless charging, that I know of.

Only Verizon 8x has wireless charging

Exactly what I wanted to know, I have a 8X and read that only Verizon 8X use wireless charging, can anyone confirm that it is only Verizon models and not any other.

wait, what?! HTC 8X can be charged wirelessly?! didnt know that.... sorry for my spelling

Only Verizon 8x has wireless charging

Is the Verizon model thicker and heavier than the standard 8x?

No....exactly the same as all the others.

Been doing this for years with my Palm Pre. Part of my reason to moving to the WinPhone8 are the wireless charging options! :)

Same here...plus I love the OS. Though I miss webOS, but have a Verizon Pre3 to play with, and my Touchpad.

Been using my 8x with the Nokia charging stand...totally kix azz! (you ca see my Pr3 on its Touchstone, in front of my Touchpad on it's Touchstone, to the right...can u tell I love wireless charging...lol)

Anyone know why the Verizon one has wireless charging and AT&T does not?
Verizon likes to have things exclusive to them, that's why they got the Lumia 822 as opposed to the 820. Just something to separate themselves.

How does a charging speaker work with an 8X? I use my phone mainly for music, so it would be awesome to have that accessory at my disposal.

@darkgift - I saw the nokia charging stand at the at&t store and tried to put my 8x on it but it wouldn't sit upright because the bottom bezel of the phone didn't like the base. Did you do anything to modify the stand or was I just incompetent?

Picked up the Nokia stand/wireless charger works PERFECT with my 8X. As long as its QI-Enabled, any pad or charging station should work. I can't believe this feature isn't more talked about, its been an awesome convenience not having to screw around with plugs. Seems to charge just as fast.

Any qi standard charging plate will work just a fyi, I got a cheap nice looking energiser one from amazon. As its magnetic induction charging I can't see anything other than a metal cover interfering with wireless charging.
Incidentally, I only found out about wireless charging as the Verizon case I bought said "compatible with wireless charging"

Really cant see what all the fuss is about with the charging pads. Takes absolutely no time to plug in a cable to charge a mobile. just an expensive gimmick.

My iphone power cords used to get lost or broken or the ends mangled or end up with electrical tape all over them I plug and unplug so much. At work I used the phone constantly the power is non-stop draining and I'm up from my desk walking around at least 15-20 times a day. Having the wireless stand is invaluable. Much neater, too.

The JBL that most corporate Verizon stores have in the western US is freaking amazing. It has wireless charger pad on top of it and nfc built it. You tap the phone to the nfc area and it auto pairs via blue tooth, tap again and it disconnects. The wireless charging requires you phone lay on top of the speaker. It has little rubber circle to grip device because the speaker rumbles hard core. You can go into the stores to test it. The HTC should be near the speaker for demo purposes. It's like $320 but it's very worth it.
