guys can someone help? my lumia 520's battery drains dam fast meaning 20% in an hour my battery saver is on,3g is off,bluetooth is off and only wifi is on i just use for web browsing and no back ground app are running i also noticed that when my battery is at 40% i just checked my one new messaged and BOOM! battery jumped to 30%! it happned on win 8.0,8.1 and happning on 8.1 GDR1 too! do i need a new battery?

1. Check what app is consuming battery the most, in Battery Saver.
2. I'd suggest to use w/o Cortana (if you have it enabled).
3. If the two options above will not help, it's quite likely you need another battery.
P.S. When did the high battery drain begin, since you bought the device or a specific moment..?
