Nokia Lumia 800 still worth it?

I have the opportunity to buy the Lumia 800 for like 30$, but is he still worth it? I don't play games, I only listen to music and since there is no 6snap I don't need a secondairy camera. What is the last update for the 800?

For 30$, it's totally worth it, I'd buy it as a spare secondary phone.
It's a really good phone with one of the best industrial designs on the market IMO. You might get annoyed by some limitations of the OS (Specially that you're a WP8/8.1 owner) like multitasking, notification center, lock screen orientation etc. But for 30$ it is smoother and more stable than most ~500$ Androids out there.
The last update for the Lumia 800 is WP 7.8.

I wouldn't get it if I had the choice of getting a newer current phone like the 520 or 635 for less/similar price.

The 800 isn't bad per se, and its a fine piece of phone in itself. It's just that Windows Phone 7.8 is something I don't know I could live with.
But eh, worth a try. Certainly a better deal than the $60 Lumia 610 at the thrift store I saw once.

Lumia 800 (I still use mine as a backup spare WP7). Its a great phone, superb build and spec for the time it was released. Works good as just a phone/text mobile. Bit limiting but for the price its not too bad.
Bearing in mind no updates available for the phone now nor are the popular apps supported.

Well your rumors are false, those have been left behind long ago.

At this point no. Better get a Lumia 640 or Lumia 735

Get a new Lumia 640 for $90 instead, which will run WM 10.
