Hi all,

Currently im owning a Lumia 800 on contract till March 2013.
Now i rly want the new Lumia 920, but to pay 600 euros offcontract is abit to much for me.

I know someone who wants to buy my Lumia for 220 euros =) and i was thinking on buying the HTC 8S which will be around 280-300 euros.

Is it safe to say that this is a minor upgrade? 2011 high end < 2012 low entry/mid range?

Very minor. Here's the pros and cons.

1-Cons
5MP camera, less memory, no clearblack display, no Nokia apps.

2-Pros
Camera might be better, memory is expandable, Better processor and of course Windows Phone 8.

Worth trading in my opinion.

Looking at both the megapixels and the f-stop, I sincerely doubt the HTC 8S's camera is very good at all. It looks like the underwhelming 5-megapixel camera found on the Trophy and Arrive/7 Pro.

In generally, the 8S is a pretty low-end device. The 5 megapixel and F2.8 aperture camera, 4 gb onboard storage (!!!), 512 mb of ram, 1.0 GHz dual-core processor, and 4.0" screen size are all the lowest we've seen for a Windows Phone 8 phone. I wouldn't jump on it if your Lumia 800 is still working well. If you want a WP8 phone and can't afford one of the flagship models (Lumia 920, HTC 8X, Samsung Ativ S), I think the Lumia 820 is a far more compelling mid-range phone (with twice the onboard storage, twice the ram, superior camera specs, faster 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, and a 4.3" screen).

The HTC Radar and the One V has 5-megapixel cameras that are pretty decent. The 5-mega pixel on the Focus 2 is also superior to the 800 in my opinion. Also Windows Phone 8.

Agreed. Make the deal.
