Nokia Lumia 929 myth or real?

Now that I will hopefully have one of these in my hand soon. I have a question/comment regarding upgrading. My cubicle neighbor at work just got a samsung s4 on verizon. He had the old unlimited data, like I still have as well. When he upgraded he was able to get a 6gb data plan rather than the 2gb for $30/mo. Has anyone heard of this? He said he had to ask specifically for it and they did it.

Interesting thing is that the snapdragon s4 produces different values for that test depending on the phone. The 1020 and the 820 both run the same OS and browser but I got 1140 with my 1020 and 906 with my 820. The difference may partially explain the surprisingly high score reported for the 1520. Something else is going on here that affects the sun spider result or the 1020 would get the same results as the other Nokia s4 phones running at the same clock speed.

Ok, well looks like the sunspider score is better on this 929 prototype than the 1520. Thanks for running it, but I was expecting around 400ms compared to the Surface 2 which scores 370ms with a Tegra 4. The whole 1020 scoring 200 points slower than the 920 is really strange. I get 899ms on my 920. Maybe the 1020 is dedicating more than 1 gig to the camera so the OS actually has less ram than the 920 or 820? It makes no sense. And 550-650ms for a snapdragon 800 windows phone is kind of slow honestly. I hope this is just a prototype issue. It already looks like the 929 is faster than the 1520!

Do we have any actual size specs on this? I know the screen is supposed to be close to 5", but it looked just a little smaller than a Note 3 (?) that I saw in a picture and someone said it was bigger than the S4. If that's true, thanks but no thanks. The 928 is about as big as I want.

I think the question is exactly how thick is it and how big are the bezels. I like a five inch screen like the S4 and LG G2, but those phones are thin with small bezels. If it's close to the S4 on size it should be fine for me.

We started getting into that in the Specifications thread. Not much to go on yet, but hopefully we'll know when the release date is soon.

Well the news came out today and it is only just a few mm bigger than the 928. So I'm in!

Specs say it's 7mm taller than the 1020 but same width. (Pretty much same as the 928) So looks like Nokia finally learned their lesson with the bezels! It's also 10mm thick, so same as 928.
