Noob Question about Live Tiles

Hello,

One of the few things I like about my HTC DNA is the new Blinkfeed home screen. Like Live Tiles I receive information from multiple sources etc on my home screen, but I have the option to manually refresh if I want an immediate update. Is this possible on WP8 as well?

Apps which use push notifications get live tile updates in near real-time. All other live tiles are refreshed every 30 minutes.
