Not getting whatsapp notification

After upgrading to anniversary update and installing latest whatsapp I'm not getting notifications for new messages,even live tile is not updating.. I have to open the app to see what I have missed. Help!

Whatsapp is disabled in background, check Settings -> Battery -> Background apps.
Then reboot your phone

additionally, check that notifications are enabled in notification settings and also within the app itself
