Not impressed by the pure.

My contract on the Tilt has been up for a while, and I've been holding out for the Diamond 2 and the Touch Pro 2 from AT&T before I make my choice on a new phone. Having seem the news that the Diamond 2 was available as the Pure, I stopped by and took a look last night. Now, I didn't have anyone demonstrate it and I haven't read that much about its special features, so maybe I missed something, but what I saw didn't look worth waiting for. First, no 3.5mm jack, limiting it as a music or video player (I don't want to carry a special adapter all the time). Second, the screen may be higher resolution than my Tilt, but it looks smaller. Third, having everything as icons on the desktop is not as useful as the pull-down menu on my Tilt.

I need to go back and play more, but I hope that the TP2 is more impressive, or I may have to get [shudder] an iPhone.
